1 Lombard Street & St Peter’s Italian Church in Clerkenwell - London

The day before Johnny and Lidia’s wedding in London. Less than twenty-four hours earlier, I was in Italy, photographing a wedding that ran from early morning well into the night. On Sunday morning, I flew from Pisa to Gatwick, landing at around 10am. As soon as I turned my phone back on, I received a call asking if I was available to cover a wedding in central London RIGHT NOW as the other photographer got the wrong date and did not turn up in the morning. With all my kit still with me, I ran straight from the plane, through border control, abandoned my car at the airport and jumped into a taxi — arriving only just in time to photograph the ceremony.

What followed felt completely unaffected by the pace of the morning. From the moment Johnny and Lidia’s day began, it carried its own momentum. They were married at St Peter’s Italian Church in Clerkenwell, where the ceremony was full of warmth, laughter, and that unmistakable feeling that everyone was exactly where they were meant to be.

The day moved quickly and joyfully from one moment to the next. There was an ease to it — not in the sense of being quiet or restrained, but in how naturally everything flowed. The energy never dipped. Speeches were loud and hilarious, the atmosphere relaxed and celebratory, and by the time the evening arrived the room was already in full swing.

By the time the party took over at 1 Lombard Street, the day had fully found its rhythm. Music, movement, and emotion filled the space, and the celebration carried on without pause. Despite the journey that led me there, it was one of those weddings where the story tells itself — fast-paced, full of joy, and impossible not to get swept up in. A wedding rooted in connection, laughter, and the kind of energy that stays with you long after the night ends.
